Beautiful and brave young people, lives so brutally cut short. Yes, we must keep telling their stories. This is a reminder to connect their history with our examination of John Heartfield’s anti-Nazi composite photographs with my senior Art students. Thank you!

Thanks for that reference. It’s a succinct summary - great for students. He created so many powerful images, often using the symbols of Nazism to critique the regime. They have immediate impact as well as layers of meaning; images that stay with you, images that come to my mind a lot these days. He worked as a graphic designer for publications, artist and theatre designer.
